Storage of Personal Items in the Common Area
From time to time, we receive complaints from homeowners, including board members, that a neighbor is storing or leaving personal items in the common area contrary to the association’s rules or CC&Rs. Violators should be aware of the most common reasons for these complains: (1) They are trying to sell their home and don’t want potential buyers to be concerned about living in a community that is poorly maintained, (2) They are attempting to refinance their condominium unit, (3) Their insurance company has scheduled an inspection, and (4) They want to live in a well maintained property where they can be proud of their community. Common areas are not available to owners for their personal storage. All owners are expected to be respectful of their neighbors which includes maintaining properly values.
