Adding Individual Air Conditioning Units – Condominiums
Before installing a window or wall air-conditioning unit to a condominium unit that does not have central air conditioning, the unit owner should review the association’s CC&Rs and Operating Rules to determine all restrictions and requirements that apply. For example, nearly CC&Rs will prohibit owners from making holes in exterior walls and will want an architectural application for the board’s approval. This is very important. A board will probably have the power to have an Ale unit removed and any holes repaired if the installation causes damage to the common area.
